High Moon Studios confirmed that their game adaptation of the successful book and film franchise, entitled The Bourne Conspiracy, will be getting a playable demo. The demo will be released May 19th from Xbox Live Marketplace and May 22nd from the Playstation Network.

High Moon Studios has also come out and said why the film’s star, Matt Damon, is not involved in the project. Speaking to Eurogamer, High Moon’s Meelad Sadat said "His interest in videogames is marginal."

"We were in the thick of development and he made an announcement that he no longer wanted to do Bourne movies. His exact quote was, ’I’ve ridden that horse as long as I can ride it.’ About an hour later at High Moon Studios, we decided that celebrity was not important to this game."

Well there’s that. Movie to videogames adaptations have not always been good, but we have high hopes for this one, with a great budget, no set in stone deadlines and a good development studio behind it. Stay tuned to TheGameReviews.com for our hands on impressions of the demo when it lands soon.

The Bourne Conspiracy will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 this June.
