It seems the force is strong with Soul Calibur IV, as 1UP.com has revealed that both Darth Vader and Yoda will be unlockable characters in the anticipated fighting game. According to Namco Bandai, the Dark Lord of the Sith will appear in the PS3 version of the game, and Yoda on the Xbox 360. There is currently no information on how this bizarre crossover came to be, but 1UP is speculating that Yoda and Darth Vader won’t be the only Star Wars characters present in the game. Considering how much it would cost to incorporate popular culture’s biggest license of all time, only getting two characters would be a bit unwise. We’ll bring you more details on Soul Calibur IV as they become available.
Check out the screenshots here.
Update: While chatting with Kotaku, Soul Calibur IV’s game director Katsutoshi Sasaki was asked what bonus character he would like to see in the game, and his response was none other than Pac-Man. Now if you thought Yoda would be hard to incorporate into this fighter just try to imagine one of gaming’s oldest mascots.
