Sony have been busy lately, with the announcements of PS3 firmware 2.36 which is available now and the announcement of firmware 2.40 which will include the long awaited in-game XMB and Sony’s version of Achievements dubbed Trophies. With all this going on, people may have overlooked that Sony’s other gaming machine has had a firmware update itself.
Firmware version 4.0 is now available for all PSP users. As we previously reported, the update includes the ability to use the search engine Google straight from the XMB, delivering the same search results that you’d get at Google, with a search history recall of 20 items. Another new feature is the ability to change viewing speed during playback of videos stored on your Memory Stick PRO Duo, giving you the option to speed through or slow down what you’re watching on your PSP.
So what are you waiting for? Switch on your PSP and update that firmware and leave your impressions in TheGameReviews.com forums.
